The cost of inland customs clearance depends on several components: • Processing fee: Depends on complexity and effort • Duties & VAT: According to Swiss customs tariff (forwarded to the Federal Office for Customs) • Order volume: One-off job or recurring customer • Method of data transmission: Interface or email • Number of HS codes → Contact us! With complete documents, customs clearance at our inland locations takes around 15 minutes. By comparison: at the border you often wait 1–3 hours – plus clearance time. Inland customs clearance is significantly faster!

You do not need a fixed appointment, but we strongly recommend announcing your arrival in advance and sending us the documents at least 24 hours ahead via email. This allows us to prepare everything so that clearance really takes the promised ~15 minutes. For short-notice or unannounced arrivals the processing time can increase significantly because we first have to check and enter the documents.

Border clearance: Your truck has to stop at the border and wait (often 1–3 hours) until customs is completed. Unpredictable and costly. AEO stands for “Authorised Economic Operator” and is an official certification issued by the Swiss customs authorities. Companies with AEO status meet the highest security and quality standards and are considered particularly trustworthy. Benefits: faster customs clearance, fewer inspections, simplified procedures, priority handling and greater planning reliability. Vector Logistics is AEO-certified – the advantages translate directly into faster clearance times for you.

If documents are missing or incomplete we cannot complete customs clearance. Our team will contact you immediately and tell you what is missing. Clearance pauses until all required documents are available. To avoid delays, we strongly recommend submitting all documents (commercial invoices, packing lists, preference certificates, T1/T2 document) at least 24 hours before arrival so we can verify completeness. We are happy to clarify open points by phone or email in advance.

T1 and T2 are transit documents for customs-secured transport within Europe: • T1: For non-EU goods (not yet cleared) • T2: For EU goods (already cleared) With these documents your truck can cross the border without clearance and drive straight to our inland customs location.
