Which documents do I need for air freight import?
For smooth customs clearance you need: commercial invoice, packing list, preferential proofs (if applicable), air waybill (AWB) and information about content, weight, dimensions and value. Vector should be listed as notify party on the air waybill.
What is the difference between business and private customers?
Business customers can settle import VAT and duties directly with the Swiss customs administration via a ZAZ account (customs account). Private customers generally pay somewhat more, as the service is more demanding and Vector advances the taxes. We typically require cash payment or advance payment from private customers.
Does Vector offer express service for time-critical air freight?
Yes! For time-critical shipments from Asia (China), pharma transports or express deliveries, we offer accelerated processing at Zurich Airport. Same-day delivery within Switzerland is possible upon request.
What happens to my shipment after customs clearance?
After successful customs clearance, your shipment is released and onward transport to your location is organized. You can choose between standard service (1-3 business days after release) or express service (same-day to 1 business day). We deliver throughout Switzerland – from Basel to Lugano, from Geneva to St. Gallen.
